Influenster Dove #RaiseYourArms VoxBox

Well HELLO LADIES!!!  It’s been real, and it’s been fun, but it hasn’t been real fun being away from my computer for so long.  Since last post we were having some technical issues with my computer (a.k.a. the laptop crashed and I didn’t have a new one until now!) but now we are back on top of things and I’m happy to bring you my latest addiction.

If you’ve not yet heard of Influenster, let me convince you that this is something you need to be a part of!

“Influenster is a free-to-join community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences.  The Influenster site is a hub where members meet to learn about new products from our favorite brands as well as review the products they already use in their day-to-day lives!  Influenster invites its most active members to participate in exclusive VoxBox programs where members receive complimentary products to test and review.  In exchange, we ask our members to do what they already love to do: share their opinions with their friends & followers on social media!” – From www.influenster.com

Yes, you read that right. Get free stuff to talk about it on social media. I know that they say that most things that sound too good to be true are, but this is not one of those things.

If you don’t already know someone with an Influenster account, you’ll have to sign-up and wait for an invite. (I have one invite left if anyone is sincerely interested 🙂 Once invited to actually join, it’s easy! Create your profile, then have some fun.  Review products, share your favorite product reviews from others, and attempt badges related to your lifestyle.  Aquiring these badges usually requires filling out a quick survey and sharing your opinions on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, and/or your blog if you have one.

Once you rack up enough points, Influenster will send you an e-mail saying you may qualify depending on your survey answers.  **This is the part I always screw up!  I don’t check my e-mail enough and have actually missed out on two additional VoxBoxes I may have received.**

Now that we know a little about Influenster, lets show you what I got this time:

**I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes**

I was a little surprised to find that there was only one item in this VoxBox as the previous one had had 6, however the treasure inside this box was infinitely great.  As you know, I am a single mom of a 3-year-old which can make for some interesting/stressful/high-speed situations, but I’m also a Zumba Instructor, Mudder, and all-around sweaty person (I can’t help it!) so this was a perfect product for me to try.

Most deodorants work for a short time with me, and antiperspirants have pretty much met their match.  With a hopeful desire for something to finally work, I giddily opened this box and applied my own personal slice of heaven to my underarms.  This may sound like an exaggeration, but I will truly never use another deodorant again.  If it was crap, I’d tell you…..I have no ties to Dove deodorant.  But this stuff is WONDERFUL.  First of all, it smells awesome.  Not quite sure what the scent is, but it’s very clean, and I can lift my arms after an hour long Zumba fitness class to bone dry pits and that same clean scent.  Well, not bone dry.  This deodorant is packed with moisturizers as well, so now that I have and use this product, I am sweat-free, stink-free, and flake-free!  Aren’t those all of the things that make you scared to #RaiseYourArms ?

Now let’s break this down in an easy format…

*48 hour protection gets you through the whole day
*moisturizers prevent dry skin
*clean, fresh scent
*antiperspirant / deodorant combo

*It costs a little under $5.00 at your local grocery store or Walmart

That being said, I think this is a stellar product. About three weeks of use later and I still love this product as much, if not more, than I did the first time I tried it.  I will continue to use this product long after the free item they sent me is gone, because honestly, it’s the best deodorant I’ve ever tried.

What do you think?   Have you ever tried Dove Advanced Care with Nutrium Moisture 48 Hour Deodorant and Antiperspirant? Are you an Influenster?  Did you receive this VoxBox?  I want to know!

And the Excitement Begins…..

Sorry folks!  I’ve been out of commission with one sickness after the other this past week or so, but I return with good news.  After 12 days, I’ve received my invitation to Birchbox and my first box will be shipping September 20th.  I’ll be back here in a few days with some new reviews of Mary Kay product, a Zumba Class, and the perfect playlist for your 3-year-old’s iPod. (As determined by my almost 3-year-old son.)    Also, this Saturday something EVERY mom should try will be happening in my neighborhood, and I’ll be telling you all about it on Sunday!  Are you excited yet?  I am!

As always, if you have anything you would like me to review, a common household problem you need a solution for, or would like me to try something new so you don’t have to, feel free to leave it up to me! You can always e-mail me at rantnreview@gmail.com

Until Next Time,

When-oh-When Will Birchbox Be Mine?

Yesterday I decided that it would be best to give the Birchbox subscription box the fair college-try.  It’s definitely something most can afford at $10 a month, and I’d like to gift a 3-month subscription to my niece, but I’d like to try it out first.

If you don’t know what Birchbox is, it’s an international company based out of NYC that offers a subscription box service that corresponds with their online shop.  If you are a subscriber, each month you receive a lovely box stuffed with approximately 4-5 skin, body, hair, or lifestyle products based on the information you provided in your beauty profile.  These products are typically sample sized, but occasionally you do receive a full-sized product.  If you like a sample you receive, you can go to their online shop and purchase the full-size product at a deep discount to regular prices.  They also have a wonderful points program included with your account that gives you some money to spend in their shop.

I decided that for $10, I’m on board.  Let’s do this!  So I scurried as fast as my fingers could take me over to their website, clicked on the “subscribe” link, and BAM!

They say I need to request an invite and in 2-4 weeks, they’ll invite me to try a subscription from them.

I’ll keep you posted on how long the process takes, and I’ll review the box when it gets here!  Mom needs a little something for herself too, right?

Until next time,

(Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with or sponsored by Birchbox. I will be paying for my own subscription, and they most likely don’t even know I exist.  I am simply doing this review because I want to, and frankly, most people will never read this anyway!)
